Fortnite is taking players back to the very beginning, with the return of Fortnite OG! Starting with the iconic Chapter 1 – Season 1, Fortnite OG is now available to experience daily. Players can relive the origins of Fortnite Battle Royale, featuring the original loot, locations, and gameplay.
Fortnite OG will run through the initial seasons of Chapter 1, bringing back classic gameplay, loot pool changes, and the introduction of key features. The seasons in Fortnite OG will be shorter than the current ones in Battle Royale, with the first season concluding on January 31 at 2 AM ET. Solos and Squads are available right from the start, including Zero Build mode, with Ranked Fortnite OG coming soon!
While the core mechanics of Fortnite OG remain faithful to its roots, the game will also include modern quality-of-life improvements. Building mechanics will align with the current Battle Royale mode, while traversal features like sprinting, sliding, mantling, door bashing, and healing while moving will be available. Players can expect to see some old-school features, like Reboot Vans and sniper scope glint, but with some changes. For example, max building resources are set to 999, and Double Pump is enabled for Shotguns—for now.
The original Chapter 1 map is back, with all the familiar landmarks and locations, meticulously recreated to match the 2017 version. In Zero Build mode, players will find Ziplines and Ascenders to help navigate hard-to-reach areas.
Additionally, the OG Pass is here, offering 45 tiers of retro rewards. Players can unlock modern versions of classic items and Outfits, including Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, and Skull Commander, with alternate styles to earn. The Chapter 1 – Season 1 OG Pass can be leveled up by earning XP in any Fortnite experience and will be available to complete until January 31, 2025, at 2 AM ET.
