Diablo 4: Endgame Shadow Summoner Necromancer Build

Raise an army from the dead and wage war against the forces of Hell with this particular endgame summoner build for that Necromancer in cheap d4 gold.

The undead hordes of Necromancers in Diablo 4 can transport players well into the late game if built properly. This sort of summoner playstyle is different from the way they were in the past games, however, the power they offer is indisputable.

There exist several ways to create minion builds viable in Diablo 4's endgame, and something revolving around Shadow skills is easily the most obvious one. Here's a level 50+ endgame build worth Nightmare and Torment difficulties that place the Necromancer's undead army as the main attraction.

Diablo 4 Endgame Shadow Summoner Necromancer Build

The build depends on Shadow damage using the Shadowblight Key Passive and other associated passives to enhance the damage of minions.

Reapers are ideal for builds that do not rely on critical hits, because they deal more flat damage compared to other Skeletal Warriors. Meanwhile, Shadow Mages can use Shadowblight, which makes them the perfect choice. Bone Golem is here for that AOE taunt to help keep the skeletons and also the player alive for an extended while also providing usable Corpses.

As for abilities, Blight would be the Core Skill because of its ability to slow targets and buff the harm of minions. Bone Splinters may be the preferred Basic Skill here because of their ability to inflict Vulnerably.

Blighted Corpse Explosion is essential for keeping the battlefield tainted with Shadow damage without needing Essence. Spend just one point in the primary Corpse Explosion skill since much of the damage here is going to be coming from the Blight upgrade.

Bone Storm can be used to clear big packs by creating damaging fields within the player as well as their golem. This is going to be made even stronger with one of the Aspects below. It is especially helpful for killing monsters with damage-reduction auras.

Passive Skills

All the passives here focus on minions, Darkness damage, and survivability. Take all minion mastery nodes (such as the four within the Ultimate tree) along with the Shadow passives within the second Corpse & Macabre tree for optimum effectiveness.

Hewed Flesh can spawn Corpses via Blight's DoT, which makes it great for every situation. It also stacks Shadowblight many times per cast, enabling much more damage. Skeletons will die, so having extra Corpses to obtain more minions is needed.

Since players are going to be in close-range combat for most of the time with this particular build, Death's Embrace is necessary to help keep them alive.

The build may struggle against elites with AOE attacks, but so long as there are enough Corpses to spawn more skeletons, then players shouldn't have any trouble.

Gear and Aspects

Grab Viscous and Blood Getter for additional skeletons, and Reanimation and Frenzied Dead to enhance their DPS. Then, find an item using the Ultimate Shadow Aspect to show Bone Storm right into a Darkness skill. Cap the offensive side of the build-off using the Blighted Aspect to achieve short periods of increased damage after Shadowblight is triggered ten times.

Rapid is great to have for faster Bone Splinter attacks, but consider swapping this out for Umbral for additional Essence generation.

As for gear, players should prioritize items with bonuses to Vulnerable Damage, Damage to Affected by Shadow Over Time Enemies, and something that boosts minion stats.

No Uniques are needed for this build, though Ring of Mendeln can greatly increase the harm of minions so long as players will keep their total minion count over seven. It gives up to some 10% chance on Lucky Hit to empower skeletons and golems, causing their next attack to explode.

Paragon Boards

Cult Leader may be the go-to Paragon Board for summoner builds because it contains all of the necessary buffs for skeletons and golems. All of its special nodes buff minions, and players can't fail with taking any of them.

Hulking Monstrosity only buffs golems, however, the stat bonuses in many cases are large and incredibly impactful. This isn't as mandatory as Cult Leader, however, it will definitely help.

As for Glyphs, Deadraiser, Control, Corporeal, and Darkness, all help boost minion damage. Deadraiser takes priority here as it's the most general use case.
